Fox River State Trail

Rode southern portion in early June 2023

June, 2023 by jmziesmer

We rode the southern portion of this trail in early June 2023. We had hoped to find parking at the southern trailhead. There was only a narrow county road in which to park. We drove North about 2.5 miles and parked by local businesses that paralleled the trail. It also allowed for indoor facilities pre and post ride. Portions of the trail on the very southernmost end are rutted from large equipment, that was likely driven on the gravel when it was wet. It wasn't unrideable, just slow going. We did 15 miles up and back. There was one outhouse about 8 miles north. The trail is well maintained gravel then turns into paved asphalt with another outhouse about 15 miles north.

I absolutely love this stretch of the trail. Beautiful scenery and solid.

Newton Blackmour State Trail

Parked on house Rd. Lots of weeds in the middle of the trail. Goes past a rifle range. Also a cool marsh. Cute things to see in Seymour then it connects to the Duck Creek trail

Duck Creek Trail (WI)

Rode this today and it was great. Nothing wrong with it. You wouldn't know you're on it until the end because there is no signage until the end and it connects with the Newton Blackmour trail.

Devil's River State Trail

Water & a resting spot near Rockwood

The southern terminus is pretty barren, but riders who go 1.1 mile east where the trail crosses Berringer Road and .1 north on Q will find spring water and shade at the Kossuth Artesian Well: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mVP2CHkrpbA7KMrx8?g_st=ic

Oconto River State Trail

If You Thought It Was Bad Before …

May, 2023 by marycooksupfun

Stopped purposely in Oconto to ride this trail. Mistakenly thought that by now the trail would have been cleaned up — that was a big NO. First, there’s no parking, no signs even indicating that it’s a trail and when we stopped to check it out it was nothing but a rutted path that was overgrown with a rusted rotting gate. Such a sad, forgotten trail.

Nelson Family Heritage Crossing (Fox River Boardwalk)

Family Friendly Walk

May, 2023 by ariseiler2020

Super easy to walk. There is a Wheelchair accessible porta potty halfway through the trail. You’ll see lots of geese, ducks & swans. Perfect wide sidewalk for biking & couples or families walking. Plenty of benches all the way down.

Mariners Trail

The trail is along Lake Michigan and is beautifully paved and landscaped. But being along a four lane highway makes it less enjoyable.

Wiouwash State Trail

Meh..

Did the whole Southern segment. Was a decent trail..the usual trail trail..nothing spectacular. The part of the trail running along the water is pretty. Low rating is for the all the horse **** up n down the entire trail. The leaves this time of year really hide the piles.

This trail is one of the smoothest, well maintained rides in the area. Yes, it is gravel but no washouts or ‘loose’ gravel . Kudos to the people that maintain this beautiful trail.

Awesome n Fun!

This is a great trail. It’s super fun with the small rolling hills n going through the woods. The cabin is cool to see too. U pop out in the state park to see a nice view of Lake Michigan.
