Afton to Lakeland Trail

Very Basic

Good paving but absolutely no views of the river or anything scenic. It’s mostly a straight path along the highway.

Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail

A Trail of Two Cities

June, 2023 by rmtrsws6g4

I finally took the time to ride this trail in its entirety and there are some real positives. The elevated boardwalks through the sections along the creek in Edina are quaint and fun to ride. Also, the presence of this route is great since there aren’t a lot of designated trails through Edina/Richfield. On the negative side, the Richfield sections are uninspiring. Overall, a B

Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail

Perfect gravel escape from the city

June, 2023 by rmtrsws6g4

I had run sections of this trail before but had never ridden it. So I decided to do an out-back from Hopkins to Victoria. Aside from a few sections under construction in Shorewood, the trail was in great shape. Lots of signage, great views of Lake Minnetonka. Even some improved sections through Excelsior that I hadn’t been on before. Definitely worth all the dust I kicked up.

River to River Greenway

Updated Review

Since my last review I have ridden this trail over a dozen times. I start at Simon's Ravine and then connect with Lilydale. At Harriet it turns into Robert Piram Trail which brings you back to Simon's. Love this trail because I can do the aforementioned loop which is about 16 miles or I can take a left by the Yacht club and do Big Rivers or cross the bridge and explore Ft Snelling. At Simon's you can connect with MRT and do that trail as well. One of my favorite trails!

Amazing Trail!

April, 2023 by jarad.jackson

The western half of this trail is amazing as it starts in Hopkins and winds over a maze of boardwalks and through expansive green spaces. The stretch through Edina is also nice in the Centennial Lakes area. As it enters Richfield, it’s more like a city trail as it runs east along busy streets and has frequent crossings. When it enters Bloomington it’s just a sidewalk going past the Mall of America and ending at the MN Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

Urban Connector Trail

April, 2023 by jarad.jackson

The majority of this trail is along busy streets and crossing busy intersections, but it does act as a valuable connection from Theodore Wirth Park to Medicine Lake and the regional trails within those parks. It also has a few areas where some detours can be taken through city parks along the way.

Gandy Dancer Trail (Southern Section)

Trail description wrong re: ATV/UTV use

April, 2023 by ktrbcook

The Gandy Dancer Trail is non-motorized from St. Croix Falls to Danbury. No summer ATV/UTV use is permitted south of Danbury. The trail description says they are allowed north of Siren. That is false.

Fantastic Boardwalks

April, 2023 by updowndog

Very enjoyable ride over smooth asphalt with a series of boardwalks (one 3/4 mile long) through wetlands in the Edina segment.

Ayd Mill Road Trail

Ayd Mill Road

Short newly paved trail runs parallel to the car road. It is awkward accessing it on the North end due to traffic on Selby and no obvious place to go on the South end. I am glad it’s their and it feels like it’s part of a larger plan. I would like to see it connect to the Greenway to the NE and trails along the Mississippi River to the South.
