Wilderness Road Trail

Easy Trail

June, 2023 by hippykamp

If you are in the area then load up the bikes and ride it. Pretty much flat trail that is for the most part shaded. Park at either end and ride out and back. Don’t forget to stop and see the visitor center and the homestead recreation and especially the buffalo

High Bridge Trail State Park

Trail is gravel the whole way. No 2 lane dirt road. There are no service areas at all. Great bike shop that helped me with my flat. The bridge is scenic. The rest is not. Pretty flat and no significant hills. Stayed at an old hotel that had a rooftop bar. Farmington is a cool town.

Cameron Station Linear Park

Quiet, short, and sweet!

May, 2023 by lioness0109

Quiet trail for walking and biking with lots of beautiful trees and birds. Runs parallel to the Cameron Station housing development and alongside Backlick Run. Partial shade and mostly flat with only slight elevation changes in a couple of spots. Short and sweet!

Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail

Great Weekday Getaway

May, 2023 by cindy.gerner.5

We drove down and stayed the night in Waynesboro back in late April. The trail was very close by the town. It is a well maintained trail with ports-potties on either end. We parked at the northern end which is mainly downhill until we reached the tunnel. I recommend bringing a flashlight since the tunnel is nearly 3/4 of a mile and very dark. There are also uneven spots in the tunnel and a flashlight will help you safely pass through. If you down want to walk up the mountain I also recommend parking at the Afton lot. I don’t think this is worth riding bike on but highly recommend walking and enjoy the history boards along the way.
