Shade and more shade!

June, 2023 by vicki1960

Great trail for a hot sunny summer day, most of this trail is very well shaded. 12 mile loop around Lake Wilhelm. Always a great ride. They now offer bike sharing with an app. Bikes are located at mile 0 in the parking lot next to the park office.

Great trail

Beautiful trail with lots to stop and see. Go explore. You won’t be disappointed! Only downside is it is rough in spots and could stand to be repaired or repaved

Oil Creek State Park Trail

Beautiful ride

May, 2023 by klarson5

We’ve been riding this trail since the 80’s. The scenery along the old railroad bed is beautiful. The stream is full of trout that you can see from the bridge. It’s not uncommon to see deer or bear in the woods. There is very little grade so its an easy ride. The Drake Oil Well Museum is near the trailhead. Definitely check it out!

First ride on the WRG

November, 2022 by engdahl_tl

We rode three miles south of 87 until we came to a detour, then backtracked and went two miles north of 87. The trail is wide enough for two trikes side-by-side, and the part we rode is mostly smooth with very little slope. The marsh just south of Dunkerton Rd is a nice stop.

Though the trail map shows restrooms at the trailheads, there wasn't one at the Lockwood parking lot (at 87). Other bikers said there are none anywhere.

Pymatuning State Park Spillway Trail

Short and sweet!

November, 2022 by vicki1960

Nicely updated trail! The former section of cinder and dirt has been grated and paved. Total length is now 3.2 miles. We parked at the Spillway and fed the fish. Trail goes 2.2 miles North into Linesville, passing the fish hatchery. The new bridge over a creek has been installed. After the ride on the new section, we traveled South 1 mile to Fries Road. That section pavement is only a year old. Nice trail within Pymatuning state park.

Fall 2022

Mid to end of October, leaves and foliage was at full peak providing plenty of yellows and golds. Some reds thrown in there as well. Always an enjoyable ride while encircling Lake Wilhelm within the park.

October Ride

Always a great ride on this trail. We parked on 87 in North Bloomfield and biked North to Route 6 at Rome then back to N. Bloomfield continuing South to Mehann Denmann Road where the trail is closed due to a bridge issue, which has been like this several years off and on. There is a short back road detour which is easy to use. Total round trip for the day 30 miles. Trail is paved and goes through mainly open farmlands. Leaves starting to change for Fall. This trail never disapoints!

September Ride

End of summer means changing scenery along the trail. The corn is up, and goldenrod lines the trail. Trees still very green and the colors of fall are approaching.

One of August Rides

Can ride this trail multiple times per month and never get tired of it. Always an enjoyable ride. Stopped at Dugans Area near half marathon mile marker 8. They recently graded an area along the lake and put a picnic table there. A beautiful spot to enjoy a view of most of the lake from here.

For a lake trail this one has a few good ups and downs.
Very lovely trail, many beautiful vistas along this route.

rock creek rock on

August, 2022 by chadley109_tl

The connection in Rock creek is opened! No detour on county roads. Shady and cool even in August. Coffee shop just opened in Austinburg, along with an ice cream shop and a small convenience store. No parking at 52 st the last mile is more road crossing than trail. Turn around at the Rotary park. Last rest stop is in Austinburg.
