Lance Armstrong Bikeway (Crosstown Greenway)

Very popular cross-town link

April, 2023 by ksprott

I’ve ridden this route across town to/from work for the last 3 years and love it. I am not someone who would ride across downtown Austin even on roads that have dedicated space on the side for bikes, but this design of having a completely separated bike lane thru the CBD, along with dedicated bike lane stoplights, feels much safer to me. The path gets a Lot of usage, which is great, since it’s that fewer cars on the road. I use the western section of the trail, so not sure what the section closer to 183 is like.

Outstanding Bike Experience

January, 2023 by let3322

Beautiful scenery with a wonderful variety of twist and turns, bridges and pathways alongside the lake. All on a well maintained gravel trail. Plenty of places to stop and picnic or just enjoy the views of the kayakers and paddle boards. This is a super busy and popular path with LOTS of joggers and pedestrians. We went on a Tuesday and the traffic was just about the right amount. I’m sure weekends would be a challenge.

County Line Memorial Trail

Don't expect nature

October, 2022 by paulaleannpope

The concrete path is nice. Most people won't be able to do the exercises at the stations as instructed, so do your own thing. Don't expect nature. You're walking along an open field between housing areas, right behind people's privacy fences. There was one spot where 3 panels were erected showing plants and animals, but none of that was to be seen because the area was mown down to the dirt. I don't believe I would classify this as a trail so much as simply a walkway between housing areas.

Southern Walnut Creek Trail

Paved and Shaded

Great trail to ride—lots of shade and it's pretty well maintained. Depending on where you start, it can be a lil difficult for new riders but just as rewarding.

Airport Convenience

Nice running path for travelers stuck at or near the airport. The concrete path is wide, flat, and almost crack free. The path is located very close to a busy roadway which causes a ton of traffic and road noise. Additionally, there are many sections with little more than a narrow strip of green space between the trail and traffic which is a detriment to children or animals. Lastly there are some spots where a guardrail should be installed but has not been completed.

Great Trail!

My husband and I took this as our first longer trail with our new ebikes. Great trail with great scenery. We rode pedal assist 1 most of the way but we were not in a hurry…just taking it all in.
