Nice Trail

June, 2023 by ken.criss

We rode entire trail (all 3 together) out and back for a total of 13.3 miles. All paved. Kind of busy on a weekend day but there were parts that were kind of isolated. Right along the river which was nice. Very little elevation change. Well marked.

We haven’t been on a ton of trails, but this one’s the nicest so far. Lots of flowing river views, plenty of wildlife and a brewery too! You should check it out

Tobacco Heritage Trail

good trail

May, 2023 by aldo_desalvo

Lots of bathrooms and benches. First part in lawrenceville is probably not used much. Started to see more people near the caboose in lacross There was a down tree that was hard to get through. Abruptly ends at the south hill border. Paved for about 5 miles. A 36 mile round trip.

I asked for an update and just received this word: "As of right now the trail is completely open. There was some flooding around Sandy Creek earlier this week, which has been cleaned up." playdanvilleva@danvilleva.gov

This is one of my favorite spots to walk, play pickleball and baseball and have a picnic. Such a wonderful and beautiful park.

Very bumpy trail and Zi don’t recommend for biking as it has stairs to climb on the South end. Great walking path, beautiful scenery.

Salem Lake Trail

Fabulous Trail

September, 2022 by juliehdockery

This is great 7 mile loop around beautiful Salem Lake. The trail is wide and generally well maintained. It’s crushed gravel or hard packed dirt and has a couple of spots where it rutted out a bit. But I ride it often and so do many other cyclists, runners, walkers, moms pushing strollers. So it’s not really a problem. Lots of wildlife to be seen; herons, deer, turtles. Drinking water is available at a couple of points on the loop and there are plenty of benches if you need a rest. Don’t forget to take your camera on this one!!

Tobacco Heritage Trail

okay ride

September, 2022 by annab560

It was great as we didn’t see anyone else. We picked up the trail in Laurenceville near New Street. The trail is in fair condition. It is not really crushed rock as grass has grown up in parts. Part of the experience was also seeing a bear. Not anything I wanted to experience though. I’ve done many of the other trail and feel this was a fair rating.
