Kingsport Greenbelt

Nice Trail

June, 2023 by hippykamp

Asphalt trail that runs along the river and through the city of Kingsport. Easy to navigate and ride with just a few places that interact with traffic. We generally see several folks on the trail so keep your head up and enjoy

Wilderness Road Trail

Easy Trail

June, 2023 by hippykamp

If you are in the area then load up the bikes and ride it. Pretty much flat trail that is for the most part shaded. Park at either end and ride out and back. Don’t forget to stop and see the visitor center and the homestead recreation and especially the buffalo

Riverwalk Greenway (Pigeon Forge)

Nice Trail

Nice trail in the middle of Pigeon Forge. We like to park and start at the library. Most people don’t even know it’s there so it’s seldom crowded. Some congestion wit tourist and cars around The Island but that’s about it. I definitely recommend it for a Nice break from the hustle and bustle of Sevier County

Fun ride in the middle of Pigeon Forge. Lots of walkers but really fun. Bring your bicycle with you while on vacation and enjoy

Mendota Trail

Nice trail

April, 2023 by hippykamp

With over 6.5 miles of trail open from the Bristol Va trailhead the Mendota trail is coming along nicely. Great ride that will only get better when completed which should be in 2023 thanks to some new grant money. I highly recommend this ride for one and all.

Mendota Trail

New northern section

October, 2022 by clmanley76

At least two addition miles are now open on the northern end. At about the 2.5 mile point going south, the grade begins to rise and the valley walls close in as you ascend into a gap. The trail remains plenty wide and there are some tables and stone benches nearing the 3.5 to 4.5 marks. I very much enjoyed the walk yesterday. Ps. Zero cell reception for most of the way on this end of the trail.

Mendota Trail

trail closure

Entered from Mendota trailhead. Three new bridges, but trail ended at 2 miles. Gate sign said trail ends. Rough trail but doable.

Wilderness Road Trail

Very Nice!

August, 2022 by allanray121

I biked the entire trail today; both ways. One has to know a little bit about the history of the area to really appreciate this trail, but even if you are not a history buff, the scenery and farmland is well worth the ride. My only complaint is that there is no history of the old railroad itself to be found anywhere along the trail. There really needs to be a plaque/marker at each end of the trail telling they history of the old railroad grade. I saw

Pennington Gap Greenway

Easy

It is fairly easy but also very nice. Goes right along with the river.

Wilderness Road Trail

Cool ride with tree cover and bison viewing!

June, 2022 by marylouwassel

Really enjoyed this easy pastoral ride down shady tree covered trail. Parked at wilderness trail state park visitor center with welcoming staff, clean restrooms, and picnic tables in shade to relax after. Big bonus was seeing bisons and their 4 week old baby. Highly recommend.

Riverwalk Greenway (Pigeon Forge)

First time riding this trail, made a couple of wrong turns, but found our way by asking people that were walking, nice trail except for the goose crap...it was everywhere

Erwin Linear Trail

buckled asphalt

May, 2022 by lucinda.f.peters

There was a significant amount of buckled asphalt on this trail. Thus the reason for the low rating. The water was pretty at some points and nasty at others. Again, low rating. It was not an enjoyable trail for us as we desire more scenic routes. We parked and traveled toward The Jonesborough trailhead. When at the end, the trail was closed at the bridge.
