This pathway is longer than stated. It needs a little work, but it's perfect. You will see many bicyclists along the way. All on different levels. Most are respectful using proper edicate . You will come across wildlife and enjoy this very much.
I ride this trail often and find it is very well used throughout its length. Diverse scenery through wetlands, farms and small towns. The surface varies from smooth asphalt to bumpy asphalt to hard pack gravel, but is no problem with a hybrid bike. Common to share the trail with horseback riders -- please follow the well posted instructions on how to safely approach a horse.
The eastern trailhead easily connects to the trail along US-23 and further on to the Island Lake trail and the trails through the Detroit suburbs. Just be careful navigating the freeway exits at US-23 and M-36. I've ridden as far as Stockbridge and looking forward to the planned extensions farther west.
I have been riding this trail for years especially the section of it where it enters Sterling State Park. The trail has been deteriorating for years and it has only gotten worse. Very bumpy, cracks, holes, it's not maintained. The area itself is beautiful as it winds thru the marsh. Take your chance with this trail..Be safe.
This trail is a pleasure to walk. Calming scenery. The walk underneath Route 23 is rather neat. Can't wait to walk it in spring.
Paved blacktop. Other trails are nearby. Can get to Downtown Ann Aror from the Lohr trail.
I use this trail often. It connects the Flat Rock pathway to Erie Metro Park. Asphalt and smooth ¿
I road the trail the few miles of it NW out of Elmore and then back to just the other side of Lindsay. Nice flat trail and relaxing country / farm scenery.
Love the trail but the trail is absolutely beat up. It's in pretty bad shape. I rode 6 miles of broken asphalt and bumps that could've ended up in disaster. Please fix!!!
I enjoy the view on this trail. Plenty of benches to stop and take in the lake view. The path along the water needs some repair.
Nice trail with plenty of shade. Very easy ride, nice and flat. Wish it was longer though
