Shenango Trail

A great hike as always

June, 2023 by vicki1960

Hiked out of New Hamburg. Mile marker 4, headed South. Went 1.75 miles, turned around. Nice 3.5 mile hike. Water levels low in the creeks that cross the trail. Trail well maintained. Several bridges for crossing. Saw a bald eagle. Trail very dry, we haven't had much rain lately. It's only muddy if it rains a lot. And what trail isn't?!

John C. Oliver Multi-Purpose Loop Trail

Shade and more shade!

June, 2023 by vicki1960

Great trail for a hot sunny summer day, most of this trail is very well shaded. 12 mile loop around Lake Wilhelm. Always a great ride. They now offer bike sharing with an app. Bikes are located at mile 0 in the parking lot next to the park office.

Lake-to-Lakes Trail

Not Great.

I use this to commute to Midtown. There is only one cohesive portion from Fairhill down to Carnegie. At the bottom of that hill beneath the overpass, there is trash, glass, car tires and mud. It’s dangerous when coming down the hill. It then quickly turns in to a traffic mess five way stop. I don’t recommend using this for leisure.

Great trail

Beautiful trail with lots to stop and see. Go explore. You won’t be disappointed! Only downside is it is rough in spots and could stand to be repaired or repaved

Cleveland Lakefront Bikeway

Where are the trail route markings???

May, 2023 by jlynnsmith691

Very disappointed when I invited my Dad to meet me on this trail yesterday to ride after work! There are no trail markings or signage to let you know how to follow the bike trail which had us all twisted up and fighting with the city street traffic it was terrible!!

We started on W65th and Gordon Square which is a beautiful area, so they got the right idea with putting the trail over there but there has GOT to be better directions. If I would have brought my whole family, kids and all it would have been all bad how mixed and mashed up the route is!

Do better Cleveland Metroparks!

Early Spring on the Shenango Trail

April, 2023 by joseph_torok

Early Spring hikes on the Shenango Trail yield many sightings of wildflowers and wildlife including Beaver, Muskrat, Deer, Turkey, and many bird species. Trail is in great shape after a mild winter and little rainfall. Trail is clear at this point; weeds not a problem. Bug spray is a must for ticks!

Western Reserve Greenway

First ride on the WRG

November, 2022 by engdahl_tl

We rode three miles south of 87 until we came to a detour, then backtracked and went two miles north of 87. The trail is wide enough for two trikes side-by-side, and the part we rode is mostly smooth with very little slope. The marsh just south of Dunkerton Rd is a nice stop.

Though the trail map shows restrooms at the trailheads, there wasn't one at the Lockwood parking lot (at 87). Other bikers said there are none anywhere.

Pymatuning State Park Spillway Trail

Short and sweet!

November, 2022 by vicki1960

Nicely updated trail! The former section of cinder and dirt has been grated and paved. Total length is now 3.2 miles. We parked at the Spillway and fed the fish. Trail goes 2.2 miles North into Linesville, passing the fish hatchery. The new bridge over a creek has been installed. After the ride on the new section, we traveled South 1 mile to Fries Road. That section pavement is only a year old. Nice trail within Pymatuning state park.
