Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail

great ride

June, 2023 by dvecmd

Enjoyed the trip from Cockeysville to PA. Great place in PA to have an Italian lunch. The downhill run makes for a smooth return back. Nicely shaded, was never hot. Temps were in the low 80’s, not very humid today.

Enola Low Grade Trail

awesome trail

This trail was great. We did the entire thing up and back starting at the turkey point overlook. I would give this trail 5 stars if it wasn’t for the yellow gates towards Chester county that have no gaps next to them so you have to get off and on the bikes a couple times. We will definitely be riding this trail again.

LeTort Spring Run Nature Trail

Very nice Trail!

June, 2023 by mkissinger2010

Lots of Ducks and Geese at the beginning of the trail where you park. Most of the trail is nicely shaded. The gravel grading is well maintained.
This must be due to right-of-way issues, part of the railroad bed right after the first bridge is not improved and you are diverted to Bedford Street. The trail no longer terminates at South Spring Garden Street. It continues for another 1/2 mile or so to Heiser's Lane. This Extention looks to be about 3 years old. Beyond Heiser's Lane, the railroad goes straight through a housing development.

Muhlenberg Rail Trail

This trail is perfect for beginner bicycle riders or older folks like me and my wife. It's flat, wide, and paved and maintained nicely.

Conewago Recreation Trail

Surface Still Rough

May, 2023 by jandre

Biked the trail on Memorial Day 2023. The surface is still rough and gravelly. Appropriate for fat tires only. Also, the mileage markers are readable only in eastbound direction. This could be a first-class trail if the surface were improved.

Enola Low Grade Trail

Midweek Marvel

May 25th we rode 15 miles out and back from the Turkey Hill Preserve just off River Road. Crossing over both the Safe Harbor and Martic Trestles. Kudos to everyone who has made this trail what it is today. The condition of the trail is excellent. The trail is mostly flat both directions in the section we rode. There are plenty of wildlife especially birds including eagles and vultures. I highly recommend everyone to put this trail on their to do list.

Union Canal Trail

really nice & scenic BUT we went early evening. by the water we were swarmed by bugs to the point of distraction and annoyance. Grings mill area has a very clean rest room facility. If the bugs were not so bad. this would have been a 5 star.

Capital Area Greenbelt

Not a Rail Trail

May, 2023 by agheintzelman

If you're looking for a nice flat trail that you can look at the scenery and not have to pay constant attention to people, where the next sharp turn is, and looking .25 mile ahead for where the trail is going , pick a different one. While most of the trail is flat and 90% of it is paved there are a lot more hills that we were expecting, and sections it can be confusing to navigate because the route in some spots is not well marked or the trail splits and comes back together for walkers/bikers making the map not very useful.

Stony Valley Railroad Grade

so disappointing

The size of gravel used to line the trail is to harsh for bicycling. I had to turn back because of the roughness. Awesome views though

Northwest Lancaster County River Trail

perfect for bikes, walking, running, family

May, 2023 by nadine7410

So many things to see, side paths to the river, white cliffs of Conoy, historic towns, interpretive signs, and frequent potties ¿ The whole 14 miles was paved, but there was a small detour told it would be done soon. Nice mix of sunny and shady. Pretty busy for a weekday, don’t recommend a weekend if you avoid it.
