D&L Trail

new Section from Nor-bath Trail to Catasauqua

June, 2023 by dmartindesign

Was excited to check it out. It was a mixture of paved, gravel and dirt with exposed roots so it went from smooth to pretty bumpy. Our group had a mix of mountain and gravel bikes and it was slow going on the rough sections. The drought made it a bit less scenic but nice pass under a trail trestle. Trail ends at Race St. and after a brief stint on roads, continues at the back of Taylor House Brewing. After that, goes on for the smallest bit before going back up to road.

Muhlenberg Rail Trail

This trail is perfect for beginner bicycle riders or older folks like me and my wife. It's flat, wide, and paved and maintained nicely.

Nor-Bath Trail

Nice little trail

We rode this today and the trail was smooth and very enjoyable. Be caught at the busy roads but people are pretty considerate and will stop for cyclists. The cinders weren’t unbearable for my road bike. We highly recommend.

D&L Trail

rest stops

The trail is wonderful, very scenic. Wonderful for biking and hiking further north of Jim Thorpe, if possible, more benches along the trail to stop and take a rest would be nice.

Jordan Creek Greenway Trail (PA)

Awesome

Beautiful wilderness amid the city.

Union Canal Trail

really nice & scenic BUT we went early evening. by the water we were swarmed by bugs to the point of distraction and annoyance. Grings mill area has a very clean rest room facility. If the bugs were not so bad. this would have been a 5 star.

Stony Valley Railroad Grade

so disappointing

The size of gravel used to line the trail is to harsh for bicycling. I had to turn back because of the roughness. Awesome views though

Slate Heritage Trail

Wrong Address

May, 2023 by bern1269

The map directions cite an address on Railroad Street; a narrow road where there is no public parking or facilities. There is excellent parking, comfort facilities, a covered pavilion, and trail access at (across the street from) 102 Main Street, Slatington PA, 18080. This parking and facilities are adjacent to the D&L Trail. The Slate Heritage Trail branches off of the D&LT a short distance south of the parking lot.
The address cited above is for Sal's Pizza; the food is excellent.

8th Street trailhead open !!!

May, 2023 by mmiskie

The utility work is complete and the section from 8th Street to the Lebanon Expo is reopened and now completely paved !!! It returns to gravel as you head south to the Cornwall trailhead.

Muhlenberg Rail Trail

It’s just the right length for kids on bikes.

Nice flat and paved trail. Great for bike rides, scooters, jogging or walks. If you have kids, you might like that there is a playground with picnic tables along the trail. It would be nice to pack a lunch and stop to play. After you pass the playground on the trail there is an exit where you can get off the trail and cross the street to the playground.
