I’ve ridden this route across town to/from work for the last 3 years and love it. I am not someone who would ride across downtown Austin even on roads that have dedicated space on the side for bikes, but this design of having a completely separated bike lane thru the CBD, along with dedicated bike lane stoplights, feels much safer to me. The path gets a Lot of usage, which is great, since it’s that fewer cars on the road. I use the western section of the trail, so not sure what the section closer to 183 is like.
Quick spot for a jog or short bike ride out and back from downtown hotels and convention center
Great trail to ride—lots of shade and it's pretty well maintained. Depending on where you start, it can be a lil difficult for new riders but just as rewarding.
This concrete path is accessible to everyone. The creek along with its shade trees provide a path that’s both relaxing and rejuvenating.
Lots of cover from the sun provided by trees. Good trail to bike on
Nice running path for travelers stuck at or near the airport. The concrete path is wide, flat, and almost crack free. The path is located very close to a busy roadway which causes a ton of traffic and road noise. Additionally, there are many sections with little more than a narrow strip of green space between the trail and traffic which is a detriment to children or animals. Lastly there are some spots where a guardrail should be installed but has not been completed.
Riverwalk and bike trail was amazing. The views and the trail were impeccable. What a gorgeous place
My husband and I took this as our first longer trail with our new ebikes. Great trail with great scenery. We rode pedal assist 1 most of the way but we were not in a hurry…just taking it all in.
Very nice scenery, water views! Just found at least half of the trail is gravel most packed some loose, just be prepared.
I am surprised how many people still don’t know about this trail, but then again maybe that’s a good thing. It is clean, well-maintained, and quite peaceful. The trail wanders through the neighborhood, around Mills Pond, through the main parks areas, along a disc golf course, and it follows a creek most of the way with multiple bridges. I recommend this trail to everyone and they are always pleasantly surprised by how great it is.
