Parke Community Rail Trail

So much fun!

Nicely paved and well maintained. It looks like it’s about to expand and I can’t wait to see where it goes!

Village of Rantoul Trail

Pretty Nice

March, 2023 by olddude33

I have ridden all the trails (being from Rantoul) and most are pretty nice. The section on the old Chanute AFB is interesting however that section of the trail is getting in poor shape with lots of upheaved concrete and overgrowth to maneuver around.

Enjoyed a beautiful ride through fields East of Urbana, IL to St. Joseph. Paved approaches to road crossings and nice surfaces for the trail. Multiple bike stations for minor repaira and free at the East end at the Casey's.

Wabashiki Trail

First experience on trail not good!

July, 2022 by gciolli4940

In the first mile today was met by two unleashed dogs near VCSC building. On my return the same two were charged me and my pet (who was leashed). I fortunately had a poop scoop with me to fend off both dogs. Contacted WTH Police Dept. who indicated they were familiar with the dogs around the area of 4th & Olive. Not blaming the dogs and will give benifit of doubt to owners who may not have been aware the collared dogs were loose. Just want future guests of park to be aware of the risk they may encounter and to be prepared just in case.

First experience on trail not so good!

July, 2022 by gciolli4940

One mile from bro walk in WTH, was attacked by two neigh hood dogs (4th & Olive). Luckily had poop scoop with me and was able to fend off. Again on way back same to dogs. Reported to WTH police who were familiar with dogs. Will wait a few weeks to see if owners take responsibility before attempting another walk. Landscape looks awesome and well maintained. Just be aware if you have children or pets !!!

Sugar Creek Trail

Nice trail

July, 2022 by grif817

Got on at the High school. About 3 floors of steps going down (and up later). to narrow cement path, but it got better a mile or so in. Nice asphalt with a few areas of root "rises" halfway in or so. Pay attention to area that it goes through congested area with Pizza Hut and other stores. Easy to lose path if you're not familiar. Measured 4.95 miles to end of path, and it ends with nowhere else to go. Not crowded with a few walkers and dog walkers. Didn't see another biker all day.

Lafayette Linear Park

I use this as a connector from Beck Ln to Twykiham to get to the bank. It's beautiful covered path. I realize there are houses on one side and the railway on the other but in a wheelchair it's kind if creepy if you're alone.

Lake of the Woods Path

nice, easy walk

March, 2022 by kaylaeduff97

Went in early March and there wasn’t much color in the landscape, but it was a nice, easy stroll. Saw a road runner and maybe a quail, so a nice place for birding. We parked in the Buffalo Trace lot.

National Road Heritage Trail (Terre Haute)

We started at the Jones Trailhead on Chamberlain Street, road about 3.8 miles toward the University then turned around. This section of the trail was mostly smooth and quite nice.

Trolley Line Trail (IN)

Well maintained and challenging

July, 2021 by mdcromer

This trail is great for a exercising people who prefer a challenge. The trail is all uphill from Happy Hollow Park to Indian Trail Drive. About half way up, there is a nice side trail (even more challenging) with stairs that ends at N Salisbury St. I would not recommend this trail for anyone with any type of physical restriction.

Wabashiki Trail

Relaxing trail

July, 2021 by delnayrn

The trail is well maintained and offers a relaxing ride through the wetlands outside of West Terre Haute. Plenty of wildlife encountered on the trail from rabbits to turkeys to deer. Even better is that the pedestrian walkway adjacent to US 40 is now open. This creates a loop completely safe from traffic. The only road riding is though a sleepy little neighborhood. The “no trespassing” signs seen on the trail are on private property. Most likely to keep people from cutting through yards to get to the streets. Mosquitos, when stopped, are the main downside this time of year.
