Santa Maria River Levee Trail

Caution, gates locked

February, 2023 by rhondarr66

I accessed the trail from Nipomo as a means to bicycle over the river. All the gates were padlocked. I wasn’t able to exit. Thankfully a guy helped me lift my bike over the fence while I crawled under.

Santa Maria River Levee Trail

Nothing Great About this One

February, 2022 by acewickwire

Jan 2022: Parked at the Broadway (exit 173) access. Tight entrance gate to get bike through. The levee is very wide with a gravel surface. We only rode from our access point to the West end of the trail where the levee is fenced and signs indicate end of access. Returned to our access point and called it quits. Saw no reason to go further. Nothing special about this trail, flat and wide.

Santa Maria Valley Multi-Purpose Trail

Ok Trail

February, 2022 by acewickwire

Jan 2022: We parked at the Hagerman Sports Complex and rode both directions from there. Trail surface is paved smooth and wide enough. Heading south trail signage indicates end of trail but trail picks up again after crossing Skyway Dr. Okay ride to end. There is a stop with three information panels about military and aviation history of the area.

Calleguas Creek Bike Path

Locked Gate :(

October, 2021 by shannongirl01

I went to this trail the other day to rollerblade. After looking at pictures here I was really excited to finally have a place in TO to rollerblade I was sad to find that after maybe going half a mile there was a locked gate with what looked like construction on the other side.

'm not sure if the trail was just closed when I got there or if it's permanently closed, but it was a bummer to drive 20 minutes just to go back and forth on the part of trail available to me and zoom around the parking lots. If this is a fluke pls let me know because I want a place to rollerblade.

Ojai Valley Trail

Awesome rail trail!

February, 2021 by pittsracer

I’ve been riding this trail a couple times a week since I found it. With very few interruptions or vehicle crossings, this is a great trail for settling in and peddling away.

Update

October, 2020 by kampfgregory_tl

The old Petro Chem plant which is pictured in the main photo is now (Oct. 2020) being cleaned up. The area is almost cleared and cleaned. What an improvement. Time for a new feature photo.

Ojai Valley Trail

Nice Way to Get to Ojai

October, 2020 by wbenshoof

I started at the Foster Park trailhead. At least on a Wednesday afternoon there was plenty of parking under the bridge just before you get to the trailhead. I was on an ebike and it was an easy uphill cruise, with a gentle slope, all the way to Ojai. When reaching Ojai I would recommend turning around at Montgomery Street. Trail gets pretty junky for the few hundred yards after that. Few

Rincon Bike Trail

I only wish it was longer!!

July, 2020 by ozairmari

I absolutely love this ride!! It was invigorating to have the ocean on side and the fwy on the other. And I didn’t notice the freeway noise—I was so enchanted with the scenery. It’s a must with the kids. Pack a lunch.and enjoy it on the sand

Ojai Valley Trail

Great for kids too!

July, 2020 by ozairmari

I did this ride with my girls, 14 and 10 years of age, —very doable. The incline is slow and gradual so it’s easy to take in the beautiful scenery around. We enjoyed it.

Omer Rains Coastal Bike Trail

casual ride

May, 2020 by christine3elizabeth

Lots of pedestrians and heavy traffic that slows down the ride to make it a casual ride; however the scenery is beautiful with the coastal views. To increase speed would recommend an early morning ride. The road is a mix of pavement and a few bumpy areas, predominantly flat for an easy ride. Would increase the star level if it were more strenuous, a longer ride, and traffic was better managed. Thank you for this trail.

Calleguas Creek Bike Path

Scenic & Well Maintained Bike Path

February, 2020 by anicecupoftea2

This is one of my favorite bike paths. The white fencing outlines this path well and the gentle slopes make it a fun ride. The surrounding mountains and hillsides are gorgeous just before sunset. Ample parking and restrooms at the southern end of the trail in Pleasant Valley Fields.
