Kal-Haven Trail State Park

Hard packed stone

We parked at the SP going west, it’s downhill for a few miles. Much of the crushed stone is like pavement, a few sandy spots. Riding a tandem going 10 miles each way. A nice ride with some history and much shade. The last few miles coming back are up hill,a bit tough but a good trail. Frankie

Battle Creek Linear Park

Nice safe trail

June, 2023 by frankieoengine

Started at Linear Carpark going east taking the loop around the city. Don’t pay attention to the old reviews! This trail is fine, a bit bumpy to start, some has new blacktop. Two short detours, be sure to follow, but otherwise a great trail, safe easy to follow. We did 13 miles, Frankie

William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail State Park

great trail

One of the nicest rails to trails in Michigan. The path is almost perfect - very smooth. Easy to ride with only slight ups and downs. The scenery is beautiful. We typically start at the Country Dairy in New Era. Plenty of parking there. Then if you time it right you end up back there for lunch or ice cream when you’re done.

Kal-Haven Trail State Park

just okay

63 year old couple. We biked from Gober west 12 miles and back. It was more of a two track road most of the way. A few soft patches and rough spots snuck up on us. But the rest was fairly smooth. After we rode we drove north to Cranes Pie and Pastry to try a pie flight. Worth the drive. We did not want to bike the other direction.

Trees

63 year old couple. Very smooth trail. Tall trees or orchards are along most of the trail. The variety of trees are labeled so us prairies folks can identify them. There are large oak trees though out the ride. A stop at Country Dairy is a must.

A nice ride!

Riverside Park to Belding a little bumpy with debri on trail. Belding to Rockford very bumpy with cracks and root lifts and many dogs and walkers that didn’t respect biker space or passing. Rockford to Sand Lake smooth and few dogs or people so was a great ride!! North of Sand Lake same, could really cruise! Enjoyed distance!
